According to Hitwise.com, football fever is back in full swing, more fans than ever are getting into the spirit by creating their own online fantasy teams. Searches for the term ‘fantasy football’ were up by 94% last week compared to the first week of the pre-season last year.

Hitwise traffic includes both UK and US traffic and this analysis covers the first week of US football, but it should be noted that the first week of the English Premier League drove the official Fantasy Premier League site  to the #1 spot as the most popular fantasy football site on the internet.
